It is always a rush to get there and see his teachers, look at his work, talk to people I haven't seen in a while. Then rush home to cook dinner, do homework, bathe the boys and get them in bed.
But this year was different.
Hubs cooked tonight's dinner last night because Pasta Bake always tastes better the next day. And I didn't rush from work to get there at 5 when it started.
I took my time. And it was nice to just walk into school and not be completely out of breath for fear of being late.
I saw his projects and then talked with his teachers. R1 and I have known all of his teachers for several years and talking with them was like talking to old friends. So when they said hi to me and then referred to R1 as snack-shack, it didn't surprise me or offended me. Because they know he is a bottomless pit right now.
It was then that I learned his agenda sheet had been signed by one of them for conduct misbehavior.
Apparently R1 and his friend W got into a little trouble. W decided she was hungry and went and got her sandwich from her lunch kit. R1 then thinks this a great idea and goes to get his chips.
They were eating in class. Yes ma'am they were. And they both got in trouble.
I just looked at my child like his brain had been temporarily removed from his head and replaced back in backwards.
Wanna know what he did???
Just smiled his best smile and gave me a grin and said what, I was hungry!
