Only this year we didn't eat BBQ we had fajitas instead with all the fixings. Hubs did the beef on the grill along with the peppers and onions. He also made the salsa. But the rest of our friends brought all the side dishes. There were even brownies and cookies for desert.
I would like to say we even had some left but we didn't. It was all gone.
After the eating we all went outside to dye eggs, and then hunt eggs, and the have confetti egg fights.
It was an awesome day with great friends and great food. And when all that fun was over we went to Last Days of Christ. This is something we have done for the past 8 years.
It is put on entirely by volunteers from area churches and it an absolutely amazing way to get ready for Easter. Here is an excerpt from their website:
THE LAST DAYS OF CHRIST will come alive with more than 500 actors and workers portraying some of the most dramatic scenes from last days of Christ. We’ll take you back in time as you enter through the city gates of Jerusalem. See Roman soldiers on horseback, walk down the city streets through the market place and view drama players reenacting the Last Supper, Christ before Pilate, Roman Centurions flogging Christ, Jesus Carrying the Cross, Jesus being nailed to the Cross, The Crucifixion, and the Glorious Ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven.
You’ll see Jesus ride in town on a donkey, a carpenter whittling the cross from a tree, Roman soldiers doing marching drills and practicing sword fighting in the streets, Jesus telling stories to children on a rock formation, a cave signifying the empty tomb, a petting zoo for children, and a concert amphitheater with live singers. Scenes include a chariot, brick making, water well, threshing floor, straw cart, olive oil press, and the judgment throne of God.
I hope each of you had a wonderful Easter and remembered the reason we celebrate.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

It sounds like you had a wonderful Easter! The Last Days of Christ sounds awesome! Maybe my family can go next year! In a town near where we used to live, there was something similar that they would put on at Christmas (and obviously, Christmas scenes instead of Easter). Very cool!
fajitas? yum!
